I am starting this blog to share my new project for 2011 (and undoubtedly beyond): redecorating my house. As with all things in life, I seem to have great ideas and intentions, but I often come up short in the motivation and accountability department. I have been a scrapbooker since I was in high school (ten years ago) and I'm all kinds of in-love with the digital sharing and interaction of Facebook, so this blog is intended to blend the two into a social accountability tool, of sorts. My goal is to keep painting, keep up with projects, and keep posting!
I should explain that the title of my blog explains a lot about me. I am a total sucker for folk art and enjoy rustic, decorative items that have a beautiful aesthetic as well as a purpose, such as storage or organization. I like art that functions and I like something that's handmade to look it. What others may see as a flaw, I see as character.
That's about it. I'm no fancy designer, just an average girl with a modest house who wants to bring out its full potential. Coming soon, my project list for the coming year and some 'before' pics. Stay tuned.
